Thursday's Musings ~ Our Furry Family

We are pet lovers, yes we are!

I can't imagine life without them.

Since a little girl we've had horses, cats, dogs, gerbils, hamsters, flying squirrels, hermit crabs, a ferret, fish, and the list goes on.

These days our pets include three cats and a dog.
They truly are a part of the family so I thought I would introduce them to you!

There's Bella, our blue point Himalayan.

She is shy when company is over and usually hides.

She's very sweet and a little feisty too!

Dog Days of Summer

We are enjoying the last of summer at the beach with our extended family

and 

these fur babies came with us because

they

are 

family 

too!

Beauty in the Morning

This was one of those times when ordinary turned into very special.

Something you have to experience for yourself  . . .  Maybe?


The sun was just beginning to rise,

 a gentle breeze on my face,

little sprays of cool water here and there,

and an early morning watering turns to pure joy.

You'll Find Us on the Screened Porch

The sun is rising and the weather is mild.

The birds are feeding, singing, and the squirrels are chattering.

So should you decide to stop by our house,

come on around back,

you'll find us on the screened porch.

Starting our day with early morning breakfast

and a cup of coffee or two...

We will be in the rocking chairs,

our eyes on the courtyard,

watching birds sipping and splashing in the birdbath,

while others are feeding their babies at the feeders hanging from the old maple tree...

Thankfully the porch stays shaded all day long.

Sometimes there will be mid-morning coffee and muffins with a girlfriend,

sitting here at the table time just flies by as we

sip our drink, eat sweet things, and share what we've been up to...

Sometimes at noontime,

if Mr. Heart's schedule allows,

we'll have lunch out here...

Ellie-Mae, Coco, and Bella enjoy it too... 

Notice anything in the bottom shelf...

This is Bella's favorite spot...

Later in the day we will head out again,

maybe there will be an evening shower and rolling thunder too?

The birds are still singing,

the squirrels still chattering,

and we enjoy our supper out on the porch.

As the sun is setting,

we nestle in our rocking chairs,

the candles are lit,

the sounds are still soothing,

sharing about our day.

We have tossed around the idea of converting this area into a four seasons sun room, hmm....
maybe we'll add a fireplace instead.

She's So N-o-s-e-y!

Yes...that's a NOSE!
 

So, what do you do when it's cold and snowy outside?




At our house a snowy day is the perfect day
for Ellie-Mae and Bella to get a bath and a brushin'!

We started with Bella and the brush.

Bella and I are inside the bathroom
and
Ellie-Mae Miss Nosey is trying her best to peek in from under the door...

Nosey wants inside...

and Bella wants out... 

Next it was the three B's for Ellie-Mae...

bath,

brushin',

and

a blowin' dry!

Afterwards she headed outside, but only for a minute...

she came running back because it's c--o--l--d out there!

More snow is on the way.

HERE KITTY KITTY!

The sun was streaming in the front window as Bella jumped up on the love seat in the guest room.

She was being all kinds of sweet,

and in one of her playful moods,

so I grabbed my camera and started snapping.

She's a blue point Himalayan and this kitty wears many faces.

From fluffy and sweet...

to bothered...

and when her eyes get big and round, she's making a plan!

A mischievous plan...

But mostly she is down right adorable...

I am learning how to use my new camera,

and since it was already in hand I set out to find the others,

h-e-r-e kitty kitty...

This is Jet and she's jet black.

Let me tell ya', it's hard to get a good picture of a jet black cat...just sayin'!

Jet is very affectionate, the most cuddly lap kitty there ever was.

During the day you can usually find her enjoying a warm sunny spot. 

Every shade of the rainbow is bouncing off of her shiny black coat

as the sun shines in through the cut glass window...

And little Coco, the youngest of them all.

She's very sweet, curious and full of energy.

These are her ready to pounce eyes...

We never planned on having three kitties, it just kind of ended up that way.

We do love these fur-babies and our pup Ellie-Mae does too!
