PRECIOUS SUGAR, WE WILL FOREVER MISS YOU!

Sunday, January 16, 2011

Six years ago we fell in love with our rescue kitty, Sugar.  She quickly became our "Sweetie Pie" SUGAR.   She gave us so much love and affection...the sweetest kitty ever!

Yesterday was a heartbreaking day.  With her kidneys failing, Sugar was no longer able to fight the battle and we had to say goodbye.
She was like no other; definately not the typical kitty.  Our Sugar was so sweet and loving, a true lap cat who never tired of cuddling or receiving hugs and kisses.  Her favorite place was to be close to us.

We will always remember our Sugar and will miss her very, very much!

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.  All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who are hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.  They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers.

Suddenly he breaks away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.  YOU have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

  1. Oh, Cindy... I am so sorry. What a beautiful cat, and I am so glad that you rescued her and that she gave you so many years of joy. I know they are all waiting for us, those pets we love and miss, just over the Rainbow Bridge. Heaven wouldn't be the same without them.

    XO,

    Sheila

  5. Hi Cindy,
So sorry to hear about your beloved Sugar. They become like family to us and are missed so much.
She is a pretty kitty, and sorry for your loss.
I like the rainbow bridge poem.
Once someone asked our Pastor if pets went to Heaven, and he said I really think so because if Buffy (his dog) isn't there, then it's not Heaven!! That is sure how we felt when we had
to put our precious Zippy dog to sleep about 5 yrs. or so ago. He had cancer and was in pain.
and He was defintitely a beloved and missed pet for sure.
Again so sorry for your loss.
Blessings of comfort to you and yours, Nellie

  9. Cindy - my heart breaks for you, sweetie. I know what you are feeling - after I lost my dear Tessa in December. When I posted about her, some sweet friend told me "there is now an extra angel up above watching over you and waiting for you..." I pray that this brings you as much comfort as it did me. Tender hugs to you, friend.... ♥

  11. I am so so sorry for your loss. It is so hard saying goodbye to our precious pets. I have a cat that is 16 and really looking old and frail, but he keeps hanging in there.

  12. What a beatiful cat; I'm so sorry you had to say goodbye. We too, lost a cat that we just happen to pick out of a litter, two weeks after. She succumbed to Feline Leukemia. It was heartbreaking. But we also got her sister, Cece and she is our B&W Diva! She's now 5 years old...
