GUEST BATH REMODEL - DEMOLITION DAY!

Sunday, November 11, 2012

Finally!  Demolition day was here!
The guys wasted no time tearing into things.  It was loud and the dust was flying...

We found it interesting to uncover the previous wallpaper selections,
like this gold pattern which was hidden behind the shower tile.

We have 4 full baths in our home and only 1 bathtub which happens to be in our master bathroom.
This shower area was converted into a bathtub during our remodel.

All the floor tile and shower tile has been torn out...

Once we got to this stage we found evidence that this bathroom actually had a bathtub
which was converted into a walk-in shower
that we were changing back into a bathtub...who knew!?

The vanity has been removed and the new sub floor has been installed.
This blue flowered wallpaper was hidden behind the mirror...

The commode area with the new sub floor ...

The shower area once all the debris was removed...

The popcorn ceiling has been removed and it was a happy day
when these lights were taken down...they had to go!

The sub floor is almost ready to prep for the new floor tile...

I don't miss the yellowish-gold tile you saw in the Guest Bath Remodel ... In the Beginning
and it was so nice when the remodel moved from demolition to installing the final touches
which I will share with you soon...
Thanks so much for stopping by!

  5. Demolition projects inside the house are such a mess, but the end result makes it all worthwhile! It's interesting to see what you find under all the layers. Anxious to see your new bathroom when it's completed.

  6. I wish you well through this process -- it's so messy and stressful! Remodeling isn't for sissies, especially kitchens or bathrooms, but so very worth it when it's finished. Can't wait to see.

  9. Hi Cindy :) First time visiting and I have to comment as we've just completed a bathroom re-do AND hand our kitchen cabinets repainted. What a mess! I am in the process of doing edging and touching up.. hardware has yet to be added. When you put your own sweat and tears into your home, you really appreciate the results. I'm sure it will be beautiful when completed.
