CHRISTMAS TEA FESTIVAL OF TABLES

Thursday, November 17, 2011

Lenox Winter Greetings...
We had a wonderful time at the Christmas Tea Festival of Tables.
You may remember from an earlier post that for this church event the ladies host and decorate the tables, there is entertainment and a guest speaker, and the men of the church serve the ladies...cool huh!  There were 50 tables hosted this year!
Anyway, my point is that I posted about me being in crazy mode trying to at the last minute decide
how to decorate my table, but it f-i-n-a-l-l-y came together!

Before we get to the table I would love to share with you the precious ladies who were my guests.  My daughter is to my right, my mother is sitting in front of me and the other three ladies are sweet friends of mine.  This evening was full of beautiful tablescapes, special friends, precious family and inspiration for the REAL reason for this Christmas season...it was a wonderful!

The theme for my tablescape was "Heaven and Nature Sings."  The centerpiece was made with branches from my garden.  They were spray painted white and then a brushing of glitter was added.  The branches were adorned with glittery white and red birds sitting atop nests made with silver tinsel boa pieces and little glittery eggs.

A mirror is used under the centerpiece.  There is a nativity set on one side and a white glitter deer on the other side.  There are sparkly little white birds and gold birds placed here and there around the centerpiece along with small tea light candle holders and little sparkly crystals.  Red ribbons were added to the chair backs as a finishing touch.

When the lights were dimmed the glow of the candles and shimmer of glitter really made the tablescape sparkle.  There were so many amazing ideas for Christmas table decorating, so stay tuned!  I'll be sharing more with you soon...
Here is my 2010 tablescape for the Christmas Tea!

I appreciate your sweet comments, they mean so much to me!

CHRISTMAS TEA

Wednesday, November 9, 2011

Each year our church has a Christmas Tea/Festival of Tables for the ladies.  For this event tables are hosted and decorated by ladies in the church.  This year we have 50 or so tables being hosted and each table seats 8...it's going to be a GREAT night!
The evening begins with a time to mingle and view all the decorated tables.  Many take pictures as we see so many creative ideas for Christmas tablescapes.  Then a wonderful sit down dinner is served by men of the church (yeah!), we enjoy Christmas music performed by choir members (they are awesome!) and then we get to enjoy a guest speaker.
Yep, I'm hosting a table again this year.  The event is this Friday night...yes in just THREE more days...and so far this is all I've got:

Ask me if I'm in crazy mode right now...That would be a GREAT BIG...Y-E-A-H!!!
Last year's event was so much fun and the tables were beautiful so take a peek: CHRISTMAS TEA
Thanks for coming by, love your sweet comments!

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

Lenox Winter Greetings
Home for the Holidays is a women's ministry event  at our church.  Ladies host a table, there is a guest speaker, music and men in the church serve the meals.  I participated this year by hosting a table and Mr. Heart helped serve the meals.  Hosting a table means you provide the dishes, decor, and a little take home gift for each lady at your table.  Here are some pictures of my table and a few other tables for you to see...

The lighting was dim so the pictures are a bit dark...

There were Christmas lights hanging from the ceiling...you can see  a couple in the picture below.

As a gift to the guests, I attached a red bird ornament on some red ribbon and then
tied this ribbon around each napkin as the napkin ring.  When the guests untied the ribbon to use their napkin, they were able to keep the bird as their gift.

To decorate the chairs I used a wide red ribbon, a red shimmery ribbon, white doves, and crystal ornaments for a bit of sparkle.  The shimmer ribbon was made into a bow and then a crystal ornament and white dove was attached to the bow.  The wide red ribbon was then draped around the back of each chair and tied in a bow, then using a thin floral wire the shimmer bow with dove was attached to it.

This table was one of my favorites.  These candy cane trees were created by using styrofoam cones that were glued onto glass candle holders for height.  Then small candy canes and peppermint candies were glued to the styrofoam cones to make candy cane trees.  The take home gift for this table is found by each coffee cup and was created by dipping an Oreo cookie in white chocolate and then the outside edge was marked with red edible pen to make them look like large peppermint candies.  Each was placed in clear wrapping with both ends tied with ribbon to look like a peppermint candy.  Such a sweet gift.

There were 40 tables of 8 in all.  These are the sweet ladies that joined me at my table.  Lots of ladies having lots of fun!!!

Thank you for visiting...please leave a comment so I'll know you did :)
