Hi Sweet Friends!
I am so excited to share more of the historic homes on the Georgetown, SC Plantation tour with you.
CHICORA WOOD PLANTATION
The street entrance ~ Royal Grant 1732
More live oak trees dressed in moss as we drive in…
The waterfront view from the porch…
THE EXCHANGE PLANTATION
Most of the Exchange Plantation is seen from the side view. This picture was taken as we walked up the path towards the front of the house.
To welcome you into the courtyard are columns covered in creeping fig and topped with angels.
The water view from the front porch.
One of the garden pathways.
This is a historic tree dates back to 1737.
It's sad watching it slowly decay, so every year we attend the tour we have our picture taken in front of it.
Bee houses line the road as we are leaving the property.
BARROW HOUSE
The Barrow House isn’t historic but is built on property from the original Rice Hope grant. This homes interior has a more modern flair and is full of contemporary art…
This is the guest house located just to the left of the main house.
WAVERLY PLANTATION
I REALLY wish we were allowed to take pictures inside these homes so I could share the interiors with you. This plantation home is not as grand as many on the tour nor is it as elaborately decorated as some, but it is one of my favorites. It is “simply-gorgeous” and just kind of hugs you.
Many of the homes on the tour have Charleston Sweetgrass baskets hanging on the entry doors.
The back courtyard…
These next two historic homes are located in the heart of the town.
HENRY CUTTINO HOUSE
MICHAEL MANHEIM HOUSE
Love this grouping of crocks with magnolia and dogwood sprigs.
I hope you are enjoying the tour, if you missed Tour #1 you can see it here:
