Thursday Home Tour ~ It Could Be Yours!

Welcome to the historic Twitchell-Gallaway House!

This stately Federal-Greek Revival house is located in Madison, N.C. which is about 45 minutes North of Winston Salem.  This home was commissioned by Madison's town founder Randall Duke Scales for his daughter, Elizabeth, as a wedding gift in 1834.

This home has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 3,400 square feet.  The attention to detail is amazing with 6 over 9 double-hung windows on the front of the house, a metal roof, beautiful chandeliers and wood work.  Just look at the entry door; isn't it amazing!

The basement has original brick and plaster walls with an exposed beam ceiling.  There is also a new gas log cast iron stove with mantel and beautiful brick floors.

A complete renovation has been done with new updates completed in 2014.  This beautiful home is under the protective covenants held by Preservation North Carolina and can be yours for $349,900.

What do you think; would you like to live here?

Mark your calendars:  Hop back over every Sunday at 5:00 pm for Amaze Me Monday!

  1. Home has awesome bones - I'd love to live in NC!!

First thing I'd do is lose all the green paint though - whew - and bright yellow - if subdued this house could be absolutley fabulous. Thanks for the tease! : - )
