Roo Dishes

In the keeping room is a cupboard with my collection of California Provincial by Metlox-Poppytrail.
Some pieces were given to us by my mother-in-law when we were first married and I fell in love with the pattern.  Roosters, right up my alley!

antique cupboard

Over the years we have kept our eyes peeled when strolling through antique shops and have built up a nice collection, but not enough pieces to use for supper or when company comes to visit.

Well, that just changed!  I won the bid at auction and look what was just unpacked.

my auction win

Some pieces are duplicates, but who can't use more bowls!
I didn't need quite so many coffee cups either, but that' alright.
So often I have to pass pieces by because the price is way too high, but I got all of this for a steal!

Plenty of dinner plates, soup bowls, salad plates, platters, serving bowls, divided serving dishes, and bowls with lids.  A pair of rooster salt and pepper shakers too!

It appears this collection came from someones shop.
There are sticker price tags with bar codes and lots of masking tape, so I'll be soaking and removing labels for a while!

I can't wait to fill up the cupboard once all the sticky tags are removed and everything has been washed and dried!
