THE FLOORS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED!

Saturday, January 11, 2014

The floors have been installed!
We have really enjoyed our Brazilian cherry hardwood floors,
and are so excited to have them installed in the great-room.

They don't look like this yet, but it won't be long!

Mr. Heart worked hard to remove the sub-flooring.
He covered the floor back up with the old carpet to keep some warmth in the room.
You can see where he cut the carpet so it would be easy for the installation crew to roll it up and take it away.

The carpet is gone and the plastic is going up!

The new sub-floor has been installed...

The moisture barrier is down and the wood positioned for installation...

and the floors have been installed!
There is no light in this room because of all the plastic that has been put up,
so this picture is lit by the flash on my camera.

They'll be back the end of next week to sand and finish the floors.
Meanwhile I'll be touching up some paint!

  2. YAY!!!!! Your new floors are going to be incredible.......you are at the "oh my goodness, what a horrible mess" stage but nearly finished- you will be SO GLAD when it is over.

We did all new hardwood in music room, dining room, hallways and living room - and bought enough extra to do the master bedroom (first floor) after we do some renos in there first....didn't want to wreck our new wooden floors and new it had to be done in stages. I remember having everything torn up going nuts from the mess, but I am so in love with my floors.

My brother did Brazilian Cherry and his floors are award winning gorgeous.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  12. How pretty! There's just nothing prettier than wood floors. We've had them in all 3 of our houses and wouldn't ever choose differently.
