For Unto Us A Child Is Born

I love this time of year!
At Christmas I look forward to the many gatherings with family and friends, picking out the perfect gift for that special someone, and all the smellsof Christmas; the Frasier Fir tree, cinnamon and clove candles, and apple pie baking in the oven!

A favorite time for my husband and I is when the kids come home to go with us to choose the tree for our den.  We jump in the truck and head to our favorite lot to pick out the PERFECT tree.  The den tree is the "family" themed tree with all the sentimental ornaments.  The ones received over the years from family and friends, those that help us remember loved ones we miss because they are no longer with us, and those I just had to buy because they "spoke to me".  To me, the most special ornaments on the den tree are those childhood ornaments the kids and I made together.  There is still a bit of glue and glitter on our kitchen table from those days...special times that I will cherish forever!

Like no other time of the year, it is during the Christmas season when there is an abundance of smiles, acts of kindness and goodwill shown one to one another.  I am so thankful for this, for our many blessings and for the joy that comes in celebrating the birth of our Savior...Christ the King!  The true reason for the season!

"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given...And he will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6
