For today's tour we are heading to Tanyard Hill Farm, located in Americus Georgia. This beautiful property includes 65 acres, an 1840's antebellum house which is listed on the National Register of Historic places and so much more. Over the last 175 years it has been a working plantation, stagecoach stop, bed and breakfast, equestrian training and boarding, but most of all a cherished home.
In addition to the main house there are many other historic structures on the property, including three stables, a tack room studio, hay barn, two barns, two pigeonaries, a tennis court, ponds, pecan orchard, and swimming pool! Come on, let's begin our tour...
There are six functional fireplaces, original heart pine floors, pine mantels, and doors. The ceilings are 14' high and are made of Georgia white pine. Oh, if these walls could talk!
On the property are two other guest houses, one of which was converted from a barn built in 1850 and the second guest cottage is a renovated tenant house.
Isn't she a beauty! Located at 523 US Highway 19 S, Americus, Georgia, the main house consists of 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2,800 square feet and can be yours for $950,000. If that price is a little steep for the budget, there are several business opportunities as well. Open your own equestrian center, bed and breakfast or rent out the guest houses...there are a number of options.
Could you live here?
