Christmas Kitchen

Christmas is only 5 days away and I'm still behind.  I'll say it's because Thanksgiving was late this year, because if I had another week all would be good, and less hectic, and I wouldn't be so crazy...so that sounds like a good excuse to me!

Growing up we had a tinsel tree.  It came in a tall box, with a ton of honeycomb sections, and each section had the end of a tinsel branch right there at the top for us to pull up and then stick in the wooden pole.  It was so much fun to putting the tinsel tree together and I loved all the sparkle!  I don't know what became of that tree, but I enjoy this tiny one that finds its place in the kitchen every year.

One of the places I most enjoy adding Christmas touches to is the kitchen.  Maybe it's because I spend so much time in here.  It sure makes holiday cooking and baking fun having all the pretty decor to enjoy.

This year, the tinsel tree is filled with candy and homespun mittens and stockings and hearts.

The angel has sparkles and is placed on a mirrored pedestal with a sprinkling of snowflakes.

The hurricane is filled with an apple pie scented candle and glitter snowballs.

The front window is so pretty as the afternoon sun comes in the window and in the evenings when the candle is lit.

Hope you are all caught up and able to enjoy the time remaining before Christmas.
(I hope I am soon!)
Truly the most wonderful time of the year!

Blessings,
Cindy

  2. I love this vignette in your kitchen! Your faucet set is so pretty, it is almost like a silver decoration too. I remember the grand transformation of your kitchen (a couple? a few? years ago).
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
