Sunday, March 31, 2013

Hi sweet friends!
Hope you are having a great week, it's been busy here!

DWELLINGS

The front of our house has been going through some changes.

We started with the stone front porch and

once finished we moved on to the double entry doors.

Here is the front of our house before the porch and doors were remodeled...

The foyer was dark,

the storm doors were showing wear,

and we wanted a change that would allow sunlight in to brighten things up…

KITCHENS ~ Ooh La La!

Arched Mullions
Currently we have cherry cabinetry and wood floors in our kitchen.  I really like them and wouldn’t change a thing except our appliances are very old, there is very little storage and even less counter space for preparing meals.

DWELLINGS

Looking in from the great room there is a hallway to the left, the dining room straight ahead and the den to the right.  Yup, FOUR entryways into our kitchen!  Four entries doesn’t leave much wall space, so there aren’t many cabinets-very little storage and not much counter space-so very little prep area.

As we continue planning plan our remodel, we aren't sure if we should relocate the new kitchen to the great room which would be a large eat in kitchen.  Or, remove the refrigerator wall to incorporate the den for a keeping room kitchen.  Deciding on a floor plan is proving to be the challenge, but I am having fun looking at kitchen pictures for inspiration.

These kitchens are pretty amazing, take a look and pick your favorites...

English Cobalt Blue & Silver

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

You may remember me recently sharing this English 1950's cobalt blue and silver coffee canister with you.
It was one of the VINTAGE FINDS that I was taking to my shop to sell.

Well…
Mr. Heart and I did a little antiquing while in South Carolina this weekend and we found these salt and pepper shakers.

Makes for a nice set don’t you think?

I do believe the set will be staying with  me.
Now I’m on the hunt to find the sugar and tea canister.  I love hunting for treasures, this should be fun!

Found any treasures lately?
Love your sweet comments...

Blessings,
Cindy

Saturday, March 23, 2013

Happy Saturday!
We are in Georgetown, SC for the Annual Historic Plantation Tours.  It is a beautiful day to stroll through these homes and gardens.  Just a wee bit chilly but with a scarf around my neck I’m ready to go!

On the drive in and close to town is the old Sinclair gas station.
It’s like stepping back in time!
