dwellings                    pinterest                           wedding
Our daughter is getting married in September.
We are having lots of fun and are busy, busy, busy!
Here is my girl and her sweet fella...

They got engaged back in October and I remember thinking to myself that we had a year and that's plenty of time!  Ha!!!
We have had to hit the ground running, there is so much to do!

We have been looking at wedding dresses, lots of dresses, and I am amazed at all the beautiful styles, colors and embellishments available.
We just gaze at all the beautiful dresses hanging so neatly, row, after row...just calling for the bride-to-be to try.
We move from one dress to the next attaching little pink circles to mark those that have called loudly enough for her to slip into.

There is much oohing and ahhing as the curtain opens, her stepping forward and in front of the mirrors...
my baby girl...all grown up and dripping pearls, jewels, and lace.
She takes my breath away!

Here is a peek at some of the beautiful dresses available these days...

Isn't it amazing the choices available?  Which ones do you like...have a favorite?
Love your sweet comments...

  1. Wow!!! There are so many to choose from, how will she choose? I'm sure you are enjoying the whole process, though, Cindy. You have a beautiful daughter and must be so happy knowing that she will be marrying and not just moving in with a fellow.
    Hugs, Cindy

  5. Oh, Cindy, what fun. Your daughter is beautiful and what a handsome couple they make. I remember going with my daughter to watch her try on dresses. I cried when I saw her in the very first one. It is still my favorite of all the ones she tried on, but she went with a different one. Enjoy this time and it can get stressful.

  11. I love them all. You have posted many strapless dresses that are stunning. Are y'all planning a destination wedding? I think my favorite one is the first one with the blush pink flowers and all the layers of tulle.

  12. Congrats, Cindy! I know you will have a ball planning with your daughter. What memories you will make! My only regret at my daughter's wedding is that we didn't have many photos of the two of us together in the bride's room after dressing, but before the service. She was so sweet to re-stage the whole thing with me (after we got the pictures back and I saw the lack). Be sure you get those pics! Linda

Your daughter is beautiful and what a nice looking young man...congrats to all! I love lots of lace and was happy that my daughter did too. Have a fun time with the wedding...just did Haley's last year and it's a ton of work, but fun at the same time.

  17. Hi Cindy! I know how excited you are about your beautiful daughter's upcoming wedding! My daughter and new "son-in-love" just celebrated their 1rst anniversary yesterday! We had so much fun planning their wedding...when it was over I felt a little sad because I had such a blast!! I noticed that a lot of the pictures you posted have floral bridal belts and floral hairpieces. I just wanted to let you know I make hand- made bridal belts and sashes, and also hairpieces. They are beautiful, and one of a kind piece, and I am very reasonable. If you are interested just email me at mysisterandme@live.com
Cherish this time,it is so precious! :-D
    Sincerely,Pam

  18. Oh my gosh, the selection is endless, Cindy! I don't even remember how I narrowed down my own choice over 25 years ago! These are certainly beautiful; I do like the strapless ones, but I see some classic looking gowns in this grouping, too. Knowing what I know after the fact, I'd probably choose something easy to move around in and to visit the ladies room in!

  19. So many lovelies! This will definitely be a whirlwind year. So many things to plan. So many details. But you will love it! It's an amazing time. Your daughter is just beautiful, Cindy! And your future son-in-law is quite handsome as well!

  21. Hi Cindy!
Oh how I remember when my two girls got married! Daughter #1 tried on only a handful of dresses before choosing a very romantic dress so very much like her personality.
Daughter #2 did alot of online searching and pretty much had her mind made up on what she wanted. Found it but tried on a few "just in case" but she stayed true to her choice...perfect for her!
Your daughter is very beautiful and I know she will make an equally beautiful bride :)
As far as which one I liked, I had to go back and forth and found two...
pic #6...very soft and romantic AND easy moving.
pic#9...something about the very simple lines make it so very romantic and lovely.
The one below it would be my next choice.
The last pic? My goodness..all that fabric, ruffles and flowers!! They seem to be uncomfortable to wear! Can't wait to see what one your daughter chose :)

  22. My daughter is getting married in Septamber too, Cindy, and there's so much to think about, isn't there? These dresses are beauties. She is going to wear my veil that I wore 31 years ago. We are in the planning stages right now. Thanks for sharing these dresses. I will bring her on over to check them out.

  23. What fun, Cindy! It sounds like the two of you are having a great time sharing this experience. I had to chuckle, though, because I watched a TV show one day called "Bride-Zilla." Have you ever seen it? I'm tellin' ya, those brides-to-be & their mommas & sometimes grammas, are really scary.
