Welcome...A Christmas Tour

Friday, December 17, 2010

Welcome to our home, I am so glad you've come to visit! This December has been the coldest in a long time here and I'm dreaming of a white Christmas!  We don't usually get snow so it would thrill me to pieces for us to get some...even if just a dusting!

It sure is busy at our house.  Some of our out of town family have already arrived and more are on the way.  There will be lots of parties where we will enjoy time with family and friends as we celebrate this most special occasion, the birth of our Savior!
A busy time of year, lots of fun, much reflecting, and so thankful!
Christmas, truly the most wonderful time of the year!

These pictures were taken as rounding the corner from the drive and heading to our front porch.

WELCOME, come on in!
This is the front foyer.  Our dining room is to the left and the living room to the right.

This oak hall tree has been in my husbands family for many years.
I love antiques, especially those pieces that have been passed down from generation to generation.

This is our living room tree.
Over 25 years old, this artificial tree has seen better days.
Each year, as I am taking the sad looking branches out of the box, I tell myself that this is it!  This is the last year I will decorate this ugly tree!  But after the the lights have been strung and all the ornaments placed, it ends up looking pretty!

You may remember these red ribbon and dove decorations from my Christmas Tea where they were tied with cloth ribbon to adorn the back of each guests chair. I placed some of them on the tree this year...

For many years now mom has given us girls and her granddaughters ornaments made by Waterford.  We all look forward to receiving them each year.  They are so pretty and bring back fond memories which makes decorating our tree very special.  Here are some of my favorites...

And I also decorate with birds, lots of birds...I just love them!

And of course, the more sparkle the better...

Now, to the dining room which is just across the foyer...

So glad you came by, you are always welcome here!
Please leave a comment so I will know you did!
